NOTICE TO ALL TRAPPERS: If you have any pictures from your trap line using any of our products, you can email them to sshop@snareshop.com. We will be posting them on the website, and they might even make it into next year's catalog!

Trapper’s Tip #15:
Use a ball peen hammer to flange the bolt ends on your handles. This will prevent the nuts from working off for one less trap line repair.

NEW TRAPPING, HUNTING AND SNARING SUPPLIES FOR 2007-2008
COMPLETE LINE OF TRAPPING & HUNTING SUPPLIES
THE WORLD'S LARGEST SELECTION OF SNARES & SNARING EQUIPMENT

Snaring is an inexpensive and effective way to put more fur on your stretchers. Animal losses from snaring are much lower than with traps.
Snow or freezing weather do not affect snares.   No need to carry dry dirt.    All snares are galvanized - wax or dye is not necessary.
Snare Shop Snares are top quality in all respects and close exceptionally smooth.
Please spend some time and take a look at all we offer. If you would like Instant service please call us at

ADVANTAGES OF SNARING

  • Low Cost - Can buy dozens of snares for the same price of a few traps.   Less attractive to thieves
  • Versatile - The same snare can be used for fox, coyote, coon, badger, beaver, skunk or opossum.
  • Weather Proof - Rain, freezing weather, strong winds or snow will not hinder a snare's performance
  • Easy to use - Snaring is very simple.  Faster and easier then most trap sets
  • Escape-Proof - It is rare to have a snared animal escape.  No chew-outs or pull-outs
  • Selective - Small animals such as birds and mice will not be caught by snares
  • Compact & Light - Over a hundred snares can be put in a 5 gallon bucket.  A dozen snares weighs very little and can easily be carried in a hunting vest.
  • Natural - Catches many trap shy animals.  A snare loop looks like a weed or piece of grass to most animals.  No suspicion.
  • Caution - Do not use snares where livestock are grazing. Use deer stops or step-over sticks when deer are present.
  • Any Situation - Can use in any situation that a body gripping trap is used at a fraction of the cost.  They will increase fox catches over the Conibear System for coon.

Dear Fellow Trappers:

This year there has been a big change at The Snare Shop. After 25 years in the business Neil and Rhonda have decided to retire. So with this I would like to introduce myself as the new owner of The Snare Shop. My name is Jeromy Sommerfeld, my wife Lisa and I plan to take over where Neil and Rhonda left off. I have worked for Neil and Rhonda for four years now, and have been in charge of the production lines in the shop. Including, personally making the majority of our snares. We plan on continuing to bring you the highest quality products available with fast, friendly service. As for our first year taking over the shop, we have reduced our inventory from what is has been in the years past. We plan on regaining this inventory in the years to come, but for now we will be specializing mainly on our snare line. We have grown to have one of the largest selections of snare equipment found anywhere, and we will continue with this tradition. To place an order, or if you have any questions, we will still be located at the same address and phone number:
858 E. US HWY30
Carrol, IA 51401
PH# (712) 792-0600
Fax# (712) 792-0601
A special thanks to all that have contacted me to wish us luck. Thanks to all and Happy Trapping,
-Jeromy and Lisa Sommerfeld
